Born in Yuzawa, Akita in 1978, Masafumi Saito led the festival rock band Aragehonzi from 2007, playing his unique pop songs based on Japanese folk songs and festival music originating mainly from the Tohoku region. He began his solo career in 2020, releasing his single, “Social Distance Ondo” that same year on both 7-inch vinyl and via streaming services.
