MAMADO

African Village Dances and Djembe (Drums)

In Africa, there are dances to celebrate marriages, births, coming-of-age ceremonies, and all kinds of life events. This dance performance features Madan, a rhythm enjoyed by well-dressed villagers in the cool evening at the end of Ramadan, and Domba, a rhythm that can be danced by anyone whenever and however they like. MAMADO is a work group for African dance and djembe that practices at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre and other venues.
