Zoshigaya Kishimojin Oeshiki Mando Nerikuyo

Oeshiki is a religious memorial service for High Priest Nichiren, the founder of Nichiren Buddhism. This rite is held at Homyoji Temple in the Zoshigaya neighborhood on October 13. Separately, Kishimojin Oeshiki is celebrated every year on October 16-18 as the festival of Kishimojindo, a temple dedicated to the Buddhist protector deity Kishimojin. Lantern floats resembling weeping cherries in bloom are carried in a long procession to the distinctive rhythm of uchiwa-daiko (handheld fan-shaped drums). It is a magical sight that captures the spirit of autumn for the people of the area. Oeshiki Project Tour-Performance《BEAT》will also be introduced.
