Kenichi Koizumi

Welcoming Drums

Koizumi has been playing the taiko drums since the age of ten. He began studying under the preeminent taiko performer Eitetsu Hayashi in 1999, and later became a member of the group “EITETSU FU-UN no KAI.” In 2003, he took part in a musical exchange in Sydney, where he performed together with orchestras along with holding solo concerts. Upon his return to Japan, he fully launched his solo career. In 2015, he released the twentieth-anniversary album “AKASHI.” He is currently active all over the world, including both solo performances and collaborations with various artists.
