In this turbulent modern age, which can be described as a critical point of technology, we believe that rebuilding communities and handcrafted work are the keys to the future, and that folk songs are the theme music for this.
We cherish the ancient “”melody”” and rhythm, and reconstruct folk songs for today.
Tokyo Folk Song Club Profile
A project led by Yutaka Koyama, the third-generation headmaster of the Koyama school of Tsugaru shamisen, who is active on the world stage and aims to “”normalize Japanese sounds and culture.
It brings together artists from both Japan and the West who have received high acclaim both domestically and internationally, and who are developing activities that transcend musical genres around the world.
