達者の豆まき型鬼太鼓

達者の豆まき型鬼太鼓について
達者の鬼太鼓は「豆まき型」と言われ翁の他、警固の長刀、棒、太鼓(裏、表)で構成されます。獅子は、雄と雌の獅子で構成されます。この集落のものは唯一、長刀と棒を持った武者が、向かい合って武術を演じるのが特徴です。また、翁は、枡のみで、豆を撒く動きがあります。舞の終盤に太鼓のリズムが変わると翁は、棒を持った武者の背中をポンと押すと、2人の武者は、棒と長刀を振り回しながらしめ縄を切って進みます。
団体について
達者集落の20代から40代の男性で構成されており20年程前は30人程居ましたが、今は若い人も少なくなり10人程しか居ません。昔の形式にこだわらず子供も参加してもらったりOBの方たちの協力を得ながらこの伝統を維持しています。また最近では島外にでた若者も祭りの時には帰って来てくれたりして盛り上げてくれています。

About Tassha no Mamemakigata Onidaiko
The Tassha Onidaiko is made up of an okina (character wearing a noh mask that depicts an old man) called a mamemaki-gata, a guard with a naginata spear, another with a pole, a taiko drum played by two people on the front and back, and two lions, male and female. The unique practice of the onidaiko of this hamlet is the two warriors holding a spear and pole who face each other and perform martial arts. The okina makes a bean-scattering motion (mamemaki) using just a small wooden box. At the end of the dance, the taiko rhythm changes, the okina pushes the back of the warrior holding the pole, and the two warriors swinging their pole and spear cut through a sacred rope and move forward.
About the Group
The group is made up of men in their 20s to 40s from Tassha hamlet, and until around 20 years ago there were approximately 30 members, but now there are only about ten members due to population decline. The tradition is maintained by staying flexible rather than insisting on keeping the old ways, by having children participate, and getting help from retired members. In recent years, young people who have moved away have begun returning to the island to join in the festival which has livened things up.
