鬼剣舞について

念仏踊りのMIX〜膳舞・宙返り（ぜんまい・ちゅうがえり）〜三人加護（さんにんかご）

鬼剣舞の基本の念仏踊りからはじまり、アクロバティックな動きが魅力の「膳舞・宙返り」、そして全18演目の中でも特に人気のある「三人加護」を本日の舞台用にメドレー形式で構成をしました。鬼剣舞の特長である念仏や大地を力強く踏み締める所作、一転して余興的な楽しさのある演目など、鬼剣舞の魅力を感じていただける内容です。

団体について

岩手県北上市に伝わる鬼剣舞は鬼のような面（仏の化身）をつけ、大地を踏みしめ勇壮に踊る念仏供養の芸能です。二子流東京鬼剣舞は岩手県外で初めて鬼剣舞の正式な団体として認められました。平成3年に「二子流」を認定され、平成28年には北上の稽古場に伝承の誓いとして「供養碑」を建立しました。

About Onikenbai

Onikenbai presents Nenbutsu odori, zenmai/chugaeri, and san’nin kago.

Nenbutsu odori is the most basic Onikenbai dance, zenmai/chugaeri has mesmerizing acrobatic movements, and of all 18 dances, the most popular is san’nin kago. The stage performance is made up of a medley of these dances. Some special features of Onikenbai includes buddhist chants and vigorous foot stomps contrasting with elements of fun and entertainment. It’s a great way to experience the charm of Onikenbai!

About the Group

Kitakami City, Iwate is home to Onikenbai, a traditional performing art where performers wear demon masks (the embodiment of Buddha) and stomp the earth while performing a brave dance as part of a Buddhist prayer service. Futagoryu Tokyo Onikenbai was the first officially recognized non-Iwate-based Onikenbai group. It was registered as Futagoryu in 1991, and in 2016, a memorial monument was erected at the rehearsal space in Kitakami as a pledge to continue the tradition.
