ちょんがり節について

ちょんがり節は、奥能登一円に伝わる踊り唄で、幕末の頃、江戸の願人坊が田舎を持ち歩いたチョンガレ節（門付け芸の一つ）が派生したものと言われています。
次々と変わった文句（歌詞）を聞かせるのが特徴で、唄や踊りが賑わしく華やぐことを以ってその年の豊穣を予祝すると言われ、田植え上がりや祭りの後に一晩中踊る「ちょんがり庭踊り」を再現します。

団体紹介

昭和５０年に珠洲ちょんがり保存会を結成、翌５１年にちょんがり節が珠洲市無形民俗文化財第１号の指定を受けた。
豊穣を願う「若山庭まつり」や能登杜氏が唄って来た酒屋唄等、伝統的な唄や踊り作業といったものを再現復活し、多くの人達に親しまれて来た。
令和６年９月１日に「珠洲ちょんがり研究会」として再始動した。

About Chongari Bushi

Chongari Bushi is a dancing song known throughout Oku-Noto.
During the final years of the Edo Period (1853-68), wandering monks from Edo brought a song called chongare bushi while walking through the countryside (singing door-to-door for money), and it is derived from this song.
It has uniquely strange lyrics, and the lively singing and dancing is said to foretell a bountiful harvest for the year, as they reenact a garden dance that is performed through the night after rice planting, along with farming songs.

About the Group

The Suzu Chongari Preservation Association was founded in 1975, and the following year, Chongari Bushi was designated the first Suzu City Intangible Folk Cultural Property.
In addition to Chongari Bushi, the association revived and recorded local folk songs, and worked to recreate traditional songs and dances such as the Wakayama Niwa Matsuri held to pray for a successful harvest, and the sake house songs passed down by Noto sake brewers, and were well-known and loved by many people.
On September 1, 2024, the group made a new start as the Suzu Chongari Research Association.
